A look back:
-Since May, Wokai's website traffic has increased more than 100% month over month.
-We've started an biweekly enewsletter (I just finished the July edition and it should be sitting in your inbox now! Sign up on the home page if you have not already), and blogging at least once a day (hurray for SEO!).
-We've integrated with FB Connect, allowing you to "Like" borrower profiles and blog posts, see your friends' actions on the activity stream on our home page, comment on blog posts, with more features soon to come like FB integrated sign-in and registration.
-We've also started to roll out the Chinese language version of our website. Can't wait to expand our content to a wider Chinese-speaking audience and shifting towards a fully-bilingual site over the next month!
-I've become a mini-pro at Google Adwords, taking video tutorials online and iterating our ad copy/keywords every week. I know I'm barely scratching the surface, but Adwords brings in 50+% of our traffic now!
-We've reached about 1200+ fans on Facebook now, and you guys have been AMAZING at interacting with our content. Keep inviting your friends to join, commenting and clicking "Like" and "Share" on our posts. Your simple effort helps Wokai's marketing efforts a tremendous amount, so THANK YOU!
-We've also reached 730+ followers on Twitter, it has been a pleasure interacting with you guys on twitter and seeing your RT's and mentions. Keep 'em coming!
In fact, marketing is such a BIG task that I now have the need for two interns to join Wokai and work with me!
This week I posted these two ads.
English Language Social Media & PR Intern
Chinese Language Social Media & PR Intern
Please pass the links along to your friends and contacts who may be interested in working for a few months in an exciting social startup in Beijing!
I've recently taken on P90X as a work/life balancing tool and sure route to Weight Loss City! I find it really effective in pulling me away from the computer and sweating the day's stress out for a couple hours every day. It's even funner when you do it with a friend and together fail at diamond pushups.
The secret to P90X is variety. You follow a different workout every day, and your body never gets used to the same movements- guaranteeing consistent improvements. It's a little bit like startup marketing- you can't just focus purely on the Acquisition side, you must switch it up with some Retention and some Referral marketing, to keep it interesting and cover all your bases. If you come and join me as an intern, you can be sure you'll be flexing all your marketing muscles, becoming the Chuck Norris of all Marketing candidates for future jobs. Results guaranteed.
Until next time, adios!
