My Story

Used to be: Xinhua New Agency Journalist, Chinese student living in Moscow, George Soros scholarship recipiant in Hungary, Morgan Stanley full time analyst, and my parents' little girl. Now: an independent woman, a philanthropy passionist, looking for ways to change other ppl's lives pursuing my own life value. And still, my parents' little girl.

Why I Give

Simply because I grew up among them and know exactly how much these money mean for them. It's easier to earn money in US (well, although not that easy),and every 1 more hour I work, I have more power and resource to help fellows far away at home. I found new meaning of life living overseas. Thanks, Wokai, for giving me this opportunity to do sth. for my homeland without physically being there.

Almost finished with our harvest now -- I borrowed a Wokai microloan this March and used part of it to purchase fodder and the other part to pay for my spring ploughing. Unfortunately, there is a serious drought this year, and we had to spend a lot of money on irrigation o avoid too much damage to the farm. We are almost finished with the harvest now and our income this year is better than last year.

With the Help of Microloans, We are Able to Buy Feed for Livestock -- I have been a longtime borrower of microloans. In these past years, with the help of microloans, our living conditions have improved a lot. In 2009 and in the beginning of this year, the snowstorms brought great hardship to us villagers. In March of this year, with the help of another microloan, I was able to purchase grass feed for livestock and weather this difficultly. Now my family and I are busy with our farmlands.
